Vacated in October of 1978, having been a semi-security ward for acutely disturbed patients.  Was built in 1877, taking nine months and costing £4,350.  It was originally known as Men’s E.1 and E.2 Wards and was designed to accommodate refractory patients.  The bathroom and toilet annex was added in 1961.
